They had a great onion soup. Unfortunately they are closed for good. They were such a staple for the LIC area. They were in business for over 100 years. The service was always awesome and it felt like an old time diner, always felt welcomed.

We were looking for a new steakhouse close by and stumbled on Brooks which is actually an Italian restaurant. We arrived the day before Christmas and found the place empty. Nevertheless, we were instructed that we could only sit in one particular area, which we did not complain about. A great rib steak. Lasagna, french onion soup, and coffee were delicious, yet a bit too much for one meal and two people. Brooks is conveniently situated right next to the Manhattan-bound subway and close to the courthouse, where I imagine there have been plenty of powerhouse deals and pleas worked out between defendants, lawyers, and judges. Overall, it is a great lunch and dinner spot. They are a little pricey, and you feel full when leaving the restaurant.

Came here for a holiday Christmas dinner. The food was amazing! Drinks, service, were all perfect. The owner was pleasant and Rosa was our server. She had such a friendly personality. We really enjoyed her working with us. I added some photos of everyone's dishes who loved the food.

I was in the neighborhood running some errands so I stopped by here to grab a bite. They had happy hour from 4-6 I believe however none of the drinks I liked were available for happy hour. I ordered the American burger with American cheese and it came with either fries or a salad. I chose the fries. The burger was well made and tasty, so were the fries. The servers were friendly and attentive. The restaurant has an antique feel and feels inviting. Overall I had a pleasant experience but not a place I would be visiting often unless I'm in the neighborhood.

Came last minute after work with co workers. Ordered a margarita. Omg it was huge and very strong. They ordered a pomegranate drink they liked it. We sat at the bar. Everyone was friendly asking if we wanted food or anything. We literally just went for a drink . It was a Friday at around 4. Very quiet before we left it started getting busier. Will come again and try some food. I'm just such a New Yorker i need noise lol like i need to be listening to music. They had it very low . The only complaint i had

Went here a few weeks ago with family. I ordered their chicken parmesan and French onion soup. And let me tell you. As an Italian, I am constantly hunting for a delectable chicken parmesan. Brooks 1890 exceeded my expectations. To this day, one of THE BEST chicken parmesan I have EVER had. The service was absolutely excellent. Food came out quickly. The waiters, host, and kitchen staff were all so lovely. The restaurant environment made me feel safe, cozy, and comfortable. I recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere delicious to eat.

I went for lunch with a friend to celebrate both our August birthdays. Service was phenomenal! I ordered a shrimp lobster bisque to share and we were brought the soup in 2 soup dishes! The restaurant had a classic wooden bar vibe that tempted us with their huge selection, but as we had to return to work we regretfully abstained from a drink. We ordered a burger and some pasta with a sprite and coke with lemon. The waitstaff were very attentive and offered refills for our drinks. We were brought a bowl of Parmesan for the pasta along with mayo and ketchup squeeze bottles my burger. On top of that the food was delicious! Thank you!

Well let me say this is for sure the place to have a nice cocktail and some freshly made appetizers afterwork. The service was so kind and attentive and looking at his beautiful blue eyes made the order even better to talk about but the drinks was made perfectly blended and the appetizers was hot and fresh with great flavors. The place is so old fashioned you have to watch your step going into the sitting area. But the whole vibe is calm and quaint. Then there is the other side for family or business group size very nice table clothes to eat a well prepared meal. By the bar you can watch the game on TV and still enjoy your conversations if sitting at a table....I really like it an my co worker loved it the servers was so nice.....I would love to go for their dinner plates I am sure would be delicious food and drinks
